            Life is hard for our fellow frontliners. Their lives at stake for us to breath lighter. Despite this never seeing their love ones they continue on bravely. Life is what they fight for, sacrifices they make. They are our heroes, our brave and strong individual. Massive respect for every frontliners out there. Salute.

Guards on Filipinos: Pandemic ka lang

 

         Resiliency is one of the most common traits we Filipinos have. Problems or disasters may hit us but we unite and lend a hand to our fellow citizens. We never flinch when danger come, we face is bravely and wise. We are a strong breed of the human species.  Many disasters have come in our way, we got passed all of them through courage and unity. Now we face an enemy not visible to us, a deadly virus spreading faster than we can imagine.

The Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19 surely struck us like a lightning bolt. Leaving a painful and bitterness in its path. A sad fight that may cost you everything, your family or your dearest friends. Even though that’s the case we choose to stand up, head held high, fighting our struggles in life with a smile on our face. Nothing can drag us Filipinos down, we unite to protect our love ones, our home and our country. Yes sometimes we fall and that’s not the end, we find reasons to fight and get back in our feet. You may be young or old you can still be a soldier fighting this pandemic by following protocols given to us.

 

Life is full of uncertain things, things may come unexpectedly that’s why we must be prepared. And always help a brother up when he falls. Filipino is what we are facing this pandemic with our masks on and our hands sanitized. We will all get through this for we are Filipinos, we are great.

Goodbye my Friends

            In the last chapter of being a grade 10 student. I learned more about Photoshop, I guess. Adobe Photoshop and Web quest that’s what we learned. Create a design in Photoshop CC. There aren’t specific problems tho. Just this one where we make mistakes and do it again. We just kept in mind that we can do it, think positive.

            Moving on our last chapter in this school year I will be using what I learned to good. Goodbye and Thank you. Rick John Labor signing off…

A gun in my Hand

            They say dreaming is free but what it’s not free at all is the challenges that may come.

It will cost you lot of effort, but dreaming big is not bad at all.

            As I grew older my dreams also get a lot more. Adding an age and directly proportional my dreams also adds. Having a gun in my hand that’s my dream. Catching bad guys all day. Shooting at a range, a policeman with a great principle in hand. A cool uniform, riding in the cool breeze of air while doing my duty. Protect the old, innocents, and every citizen. But it is all worth it? Risking my life for others, a great job but it will cost me my life. I don’t care for my duty, principle and belief is true. Even if my life’s on the line trust me I’ll be there protecting the citizens.

            Study, get a job and die what a cycle. Still in the phase one but dreaming to get in the phase two soon. Dream big. I’ll be your knight in shining armor.

Our Foundation

118^th High School Day, that long since our school started celebrating our High School Day in Ilocos Sur National High school. Usually our foundation day happens in the month of March.

This year’s High school Day is truly by memorable. Our last Foundation Day being at the Junior High School. A usual 2-day celebration of our school to commemorate how it was found. In this 2-day celebration, a parade will happen and a field demo, dancing to our worries. Each grade levels dancing with their might and greatness. And after that the coronation of Mr. and Ms. High School Day.

Last year of being a Junior High School, last High School Day. A great way to end a marvelous School Year. Truly we will remember this all after our journey.

A Flashback to the Past

Every year the Kannawidan Ylocos Festival is held in the province of Ilocos Sur. For its richness of our culture we flashback to the past, our rich tradition, diversity and our old culture.

In the Kannawidan Festival, activities are held to commemorate our rich tradition. It recognizes the culture of different cities and municipalities. The different products of great cities that are shown with proudness of said places. A showcase of Ilocano’s great talents and their smart ways and thinking. A few great artists and bands also come to do some singing, and more in joining the said festival.

Kannawidan a living evidence of our rich culture and tradition. A treasure which we should preserve and pursue in doing it annually.

Begin with Yourself

            Different responsibilities, priorities and roles in our society. But all aims to make our world better. Pushing forward to a new era where everything is innovation. But before that big change where should we begin?

            Ourselves, the starting line is ourselves. In order to change something that big we need to change ourselves, innovate it. Our skills let’s hone it to sharpen and put it in use in the future. Set our minds to think positively, set our paths to the right direction in order to influence others to the bright side. Every big things starts in small things. By ourselves we can be a light in changing our dark world. With a single light with a good use of influence we can spread the light and give a hope of change.

            Ourselves, yes it starts with you and me. Self-improvement our starting line to a life changing journey. Let your light so shine upon  man.

VIVA Vigan!

The Vigan City Fiesta is held in honour of St. Paul the Apostle, the city’s patron saint, on 25 January each year. Locals and tourists gather to experience and see the street dancing, carnivals, food fairs, and arts and crafts, adding to the attraction of this UNESCO World Heritage City.

Biguenos from all over the country and even abroad return to Vigan, as it is the custom of Filipinos to return to their hometown to join their family and friends in the celebration of their fiesta. They are joined by thousands of visitors from other parts of the Philippines and other countries in enjoying the cultural shows, parades and street dancing prepared by the local government with the help of the local industries and communities. There are also food fairs, arts and crafts exhibits, as well as a visiting carnival.

Once again a great day to celebrate a beautiful event. Viva Vigan! We are one in celebrating our every year celebration.

A new me?

            A new year, a new day, a new decade. A fresh start to change or stay as it is. Hmmm? Setting a new goal which somehow I will only fail at it just like this past few years. Wait, maybe I will do it, set goal might as well do it, my best to strive to that certain goal. But what will it be, change my personality, physical self? Start a diet, or achieve something great, be a legend of my own? I don’t know, let’s just leave it for a moment and take time to think about it.

            We often start a new year, with our New Year’s Resolution. For the first few days, or weeks we are just doing fine, we are striving but after a few months we forget about it. Fading in our memory once a promise became a memory which we can’t remember no more. Laziness may come and will ruin every plan you made since the day you set your goals. Well what I’m thinking about is, will I change ‘me’? The way I interact, the talkativeness I have in me, I don’t know seems kind of hard, just thinking about it makes me not to pursue it anymore. Well it will benefit me for sure, changing my behavior but many things will change or adjust too, for sure. Thinking about it maybe I will? I don’t know, I don’t want to set new goals and eventually fail at the end. But for the mean time I’ll try my best, try to change for the better I guess.

            A new me, sounds pretty good but takes up effort; a bunch of them. Thinking what if the new me will change that much, losing my identity, building a new one. As early as possible we should be deciding of what we should do with our lives. New me, for the better or worse, doesn’t matter I won’t do it anyway.

Joy to the world

Once again the day our Jesus Christ was born. That gave joy to people for a blessing that was given to us. Jesus brought a new religion based on love & the vision of a God who is full of compassion and forgiveness; a vision of doing everything with a positive mindset & from a place of love.

Christmas well first thing that comes in our mind are presents, delicious food and a joyful music ringing in our ears. That’s one thing but the true essence of Christmas is love. Give things with love, eat those meals with those people you love, and sing those songs lovely with all our hearts. As we go on and celebrate Christmas we must keep in mind, the reason of why we have this; the love of our God. Be a helping hand, a model of being a good person, showing how much you care and love for them. Be a guide in sharing love and positivity, spreading the work and words of God.

For me love is the essence of Christmas, bring joy to the world. But we must keep in mind, spread love not only in Christmas; every day is Christmas. Have a jolly and Merry Christmas to all.

GAD-VAW

We are living in a world full of stereotypes. Saying that women are weak, resulting to various abuses. Living in the shadows, they fear to speak up and stand for themselves. Some doesn’t even have the right to live peaceful. Violating their rights physically, mentally, and sexually, leading to issues, health issues.

It has a big impact in our society; it’s one of the biggest problems in our society, having inequality between the two genders. Common abuse that is happening to women are physical and sexual abuse. In times these abuses happen to one’s life, it becomes more difficult for them to move on. Destroying their lives and disrupting them to live peacefully. And may lead to a bigger problem or become a reason for suicide.

Stop the violence, fight for what is right. Break the barriers among us. Spread love and positivity, stop the hate.  End violence, to every mankind.

Home, Our Home

Fresh air, clean water, a nice home and delicious consumables. All being provided by our planet, our mother, the Earth. In existence for 4.543 billion years and in a blink of an eye, slowly being devoured by us, being push to the limit causing it's extinction.

November a great month. Another a activity, a great event has started which is the National Environmental Awareness Month and Clean Air Month. Promoting to the public, awareness on protecting and keeping our home preserve and to ensure a clean and nice environment for future generations. Being a great person and know the right things to do in order to help maintain or improve the cleanliness of our beloved Earth. Let us unite and help keep our planet's beauty and preserve it's hidden wonder. Prevent inhumane activities let us keep our home same from danger and help nourish our home. Destruction of our home is near, continuing this acts will surely help it to move faster to extinction and to fade forever.

Home, only one unique planet suitable for us. Let us not destroy it but help each one to nourish it. Love our only home, prevent destruction and make a difference. Be wise in our decisions, and hopefully regret won't be a choice.

Let's Go!

1 2 3, Let's Go, again in the month of November. The start of Children's Month having this year's theme, "Karapatang Pambata: Patuloy na Pahalagahan at Gampanan tungo sa Magandang Kinabukasan". Going on the month is focused on children's right, in terms of their basic needs.

In some cases children are being abused and maltreated each year. Being harassed physically or mentally, affecting or being a great impact to children's lives. With this month it helps individuals to  be aware of children's state. Giving the public awareness to children's rights and to be responsible in raising a Filipino child to grow into a well-rounded person. Making a strong commitment to protect every child at all cost, to ensure their safety and give them an environment suitable to help them grow into a great person someday. 

Let us all unite to protect our samplings. For they are the future generation, the one who will continue what have been started. Guide them and help them in order for them to make their own legacy some day.

A Valuable Month

Here we at again the month of November, the Filipino Values Month. In pursuant to Proclamation No. 479 issued back on the 7th of October year 1994. Every year a celebration of Filipino Values Month, the whole November. With this year's theme, "Pamilyang Pilipino Patatagin, Susi sa Paghubog ng Kabataang Maka-Diyos, Makatao, Makakalikasan, at Makabansa". 

Values are important in every individual, which we can take with us until we grow old. This year it focuses on the four pillars, which is pro-God, pro-people, pro-country, and pro-nature which reflects our country's rich tradition and culture. And the values of us Filipino that distinguish us from other tribes or from other countries. We need to strengthen it and develop our good core values. And encouraging us all to awake this values to achieve our goals, national goals and our life goals. We all are highly encourage to participate in this month for the celebration of Filipino Values Month.

As we move on forward with our lives, as we grow older and as time goes by, never forget and carry with you all the time the values we learned from our beloved teachers and specially our family. Never be afraid or shy of what culture or to show the values you have.

We as One Nation

Here we go again, the month of October. Celebrating again the day where various nations became as one or unite to achieve peace and progress. On October 24, 1945 where United Nation came into existence. Commemorating the establishment such organization that aims a big progress into human civilization. With the theme for this year, "Indigenous Languages Matter for Sustainable Development, Peace Building and Reconciliation".

United Nation, many countries and having only one goal. Having a long time peace and diversity among each other in different parts of the world. Having our country, Philippines as one of the member of UN. Having connection to different countries all around the world which help us financially, helping our country's economy to grow even more. And as part of the celebration various activities were held in schools. Events or shows promoting or connected to United Nation showing out support in the month-long celebration of the yearly UN's existence. A great way to learn and be one or socialize with others. October month of Unity among countries in different part of the world.

Once again an important event in human history. Preserving it and pursue on and continue what our ancestors have started. Don't let a good and helpful tradition fade away from our generation. Keeping a peaceful and and an unbreakable bond among us. Break the barriers between us.

The Second Return

Ooofff, another quarter has ended. Another cool journey has arrived on its destination. I have learned a lot this quarter. I became an amateur programmer I guess. We learn basic html tags in this quarter. I guess the only problem is me; well I’m not great at memorizing so it became a problem or challenge for me but I overcome it after all. Well it was quite a great journey for me even if memorizing became a struggle for me. It was worth it all of my efforts. Moving on, I will pursue to an another chapter of this amazing journey called life.

What a Guide

Here we at again another year in our wonderful society. Teachers day a day of remembrance of our beloved guide in our school. A guide, a light in our path, and sometimes our happy pill. Teaching their lessons in their unique ways. Teaching their lessons, giving jokes, and helping us to strive to success.

Teachers are not all that. They don't only teach us what is was, numbers, sentences, and history. They also taught us life lessons, moral lessons that we can use in our journey. They are our wonderful treasure in our lives. They are important people that without them where are we? We stumble, teachers are there helping us to get back. They are also our protector, our knight in shining armor. They became our second parents that without them who would teach us this knowledge, a light in our world. 

Appreciate our teachers like our own parents. They want the best for us. Love them for they love us first. Happy Teachers Day to our guide, light in our dark path, our beloved teachers.

A Hot Sport

            Intramurals is one of the programs our school is doing for so many generations. It is the battle amongst student athletes in their different specialization. It promotes teamwork, sportsmanship, unity and cooperation among the athletes. It is such a good practice in schools for it helps to improve the well-being of everyone.

            Intramurals doesn’t only teach us how to play but also it teaches us life lessons. We may stumble in the way but what’s important is to get back up and keep your head on the game. We win which gives us joy and satisfaction and acceptance of our defeat when we lose.

            Every school conducts this event, and ours was on September 12-14, 2019. It was our last Intramurals in our Junior Level. It was fun actually even if the sun above is heating to hundred degrees. My friends and I was busy watching different sport activities, enjoying it. And different clubs also put up booths during the intramurals.

            

It was a struggle but we enjoyed it. Well it is our last Intramurals after all, why not make fun out of this last moments. See you again on the next Sports Event.
